Volunteering
WHY NOT GET INVOLVED
The Lake Stewards always welcome new members.
To become a new member.pdf
If you are interested in volunteering to help the work of the Lake Stewards, please call Barbara Karthein at (905) 985-0958 or President Jamie Ross at (905) 985-0555. At that point we would suggest that we arrange a suitable time to get together over coffee or tea and discuss exactly the kind of volunteering your would like to do and what your interests are. At that time we can go over what kind of specific opportunities we have that might interest you.
At the moment we need people to:
- Take photographs for our website and FOCUS on Scugog article
- Write and submit grant applications
- Help the Treasurer
- Be creative and develop all sorts of display materials, website interest pieces, plan a demonstration booth
- Organize workshops
- Work on the Weevil Committee
- Do research for big submissions on topics ranging from the Port Perry Sewage Lagoons, to private septic systems, to stormwater management, etc.
Hopefully in the near future there will be opportunities for tree planting, shoreline work, working with children and working in a storefront giving out information.
